Had the nopal taco and the mushroom taco. Quick and clean service. No fuss and no confusion. Super simple and elegant. Simple and good taste. Nopal was amazing. I think mushroom taco needs some more work.

Came to Carmelo's for some night bites whilst hanging with friends and it there was quite the line which can be a good sign - It shows the place is popular, so they must be doing something good, but also you then have to wait if you're hungry. I got the special, what special? Why the Beef birria tacos of course! $12.99 while a bit high, it was slightly cheaper than past couple places I've had the same trio of tacos. It of course came with a nice container of consommé broth for dipping. The tacos were good, but less meaty than what I've had. The guac on top was nice add though, I didn't even have to ask. Carmelo's is a walk-up window, like a notch up from a taco truck, so the presentation was decent. The flaw with Carmelo's is that it's pretty much walk up - take out. There is no place to sit or even place your food down. I had to juggle my plate and consommé while eating carefully. Because it can get so crowded I can see why they'd skip that but it's still kind of a hassle. That all said, Carmelo's is pretty fast, even with a crowd and the food is decent. There is a corner store right next to it if you want a soda or something to go with your food. Just be prepared to grab and go here.

Delicious tacos that pack a kick! My husband and I stopped for lunch here! Cap hill gets pretty busy so if you're driving, just be prepared for the chaos. It's much easier to walk here if you live nearby. This spot is a takeout only spot. There is no seating and it's just a window you order and pick up from. We got the Al pastor taco (which was our favorite), the asada taco, and the one with chorizo and potato which was kind of spicy for our taste. The tacos came with lime and pickled carrots. Tacos were decently priced! Overall, we really enjoyed stopping here!

Steve and I went to Carmelo's Tacos last weekend and really enjoyed it a great deal! Super, super good food! Steve got the Veggie Nopal taco while I got the Veggie Nopal Quesadilla. What made up the Veggie Nopal was cactus, potatoes and onions. And it was a delicious filling! Though it was very awkward to eat and we had to go back to our closely parked car to dine somewhat comfortably I really did enjoy that quesadilla and the dipping sauces that came with it. Alas because of the awkward situation as to where to eat our food I didn't get any pictures of what we ordered. There is no seating near the walk up and I am not so sure sitting on the street curb is encouraged while eating your food. But it's a super popular place as there is often customers congregated around the walk up.
